Welcome to the
Lehigh Township Historical Society

Our historical society was formed in 2001.  We maintain two historical sites, the Historical Centre and
the St. Paul's Schoolhouse, where you will find many artifacts and documents relating to the history of the
Lehigh Township area.  Please come visit us if you are interested in local history.

LTHS Historical Centre and Museum is now open to the public by appointment.
There is usually someone present at the Historical Centre on Tuesday mornings from 9 am until Noon (except for the     second Tuesday each month).  There are also some dates we will be closed for holidays and/or inclement weather.
Please call (610-440-0151) before stopping by on a Tuesday to make sure we are there.
You can also check our Facebook page for any unplanned closing post.
We will not be open on Sundays until May of 2023 when our usual summer Open House tours resume.  Groups can schedule visitations to the Historical Centre Museum or St. Paul's Schoolhouse by calling our office or contacting us via Facebook Messenger or this website contact page.  We will be checking and responding to our email and voicemails within a reasonable time. Thank you for understanding.  Stay safe and be well.
The Lehigh Township Historical Centre, home of our archives, collections and office, is located at 3811 Lehigh Drive, Northampton, PA, next to the Indian Trail Park along Route 248 in the village of Pennsville, just east of Cherryville.          This building was occupied in July 2007 after being reconstructed on the site of the former "Trading Post" of the Indian Trail Park.
Monthly meetings are held here the second Monday of each month at 1:00 pm in the afternoon. If inclement weather forces a postponement, the meeting date, time and/or location may be changed.  Check our News page and Facebook Page for updates.
We are open to the public year round by appointment, however, we have open house times from May through September. Our regular Open House season will begin again in May 2022 and we will be open on the first Sunday of the month from 1 to 4 pm. Just stop in and pay us a visit.  There are no admission fees but donations are welcomed.  Our office and museum at the Historical Centre is open on Tuesday mornings from 9 am to Noon unless we have inclement weather.  Please call first if the weather is bad to make sure we are open: 610-440-0151.
Our St. Paul's Schoolhouse is only open by appointment except once a year when we have a special event Open House for the school usually in the summer or early autumn.
We invite small groups and organizations (Scout troops and clubs) to set up a time and date to visit that is mutually suitable.  Why not visit both the Historical Centre and Schoolhouse on one trip!  Please call or send us a message to make arrangements.  We look forward to seeing you!
